The trailer for Kate Bosworth's latest cinematic outing, a remake of the 1971 classic Straw Dogs, has been watched over half-a-million times since being uploaded to YouTube on June 26.
Straw Dogs is due out in the United States on September 16 and stars Kate Bosworth ( Superman Returns, 21) and James Marsden ( X Men: The Last Stand, Superman Returns). The film is a remake of the 1971 classic of the same name, which starred Dustin Hoffman and Susan George.
Both films tell the story of a young couple who move to a rural area and are subject to increasing harassment from locals leading to a violent confrontation. However, whereas the original movie was set in rural England, the 2011 re-make is set in the US deep south.
As of June 27 the trailer titled STRAW DOGS -Official Trailer-In Theaters 9/16 has attracted nearly 683,000 views and is ranked fifth on YouTube's "most watched today" charts.
Several versions of the trailer for the original 1971 Straw Dogs are also available to watch on YouTube; the most viewed of these has 418,139 views after having been uploaded to YouTube in 2006.
