The Web 3.0 will take place in California during the week of January 25, but all eyes will be on Apple's January 27 press event, where the company is largely expected to release their rumored tablet computer.

The conference highlights the ways in which businesses and individuals can harness these new technologies and investigates the future of the connected world. Confirmed speakers at the conference include Johanna Wright, director of Product Management responsible for Web Search at Google; Scott Prevost, principal development manager for Bing at Microsoft; Peter Mika, researcher and data architect at Yahoo! Research in Barcelona; and Frank Addante, founder and CEO of the Rubicon Project.

Technology blogs are full of speculation about the new products Apple will announce at its January 27 press conference. Text on the press conference invitations reads, "Come and see our latest creation" fuelling the assumption that Apple will announce their coveted "tablet" at the press-only event. Insider information also points to the possible unveiling of all-new MacBook Pro laptops, iPhone 4.0 and a cloud-based iTunes store that will run natively in internet browsers.

Global Game Jam

The Global Game Jam is a gaming tournament but rather than applauding player skills, it elevates designers' digits and programmers' prowess. Over 100 worldwide tournament locations have been officially registered as venues for the 48-hour game-making frenzy, where competitors are organized into adhoc teams before attempting to churn out one of the best games of the tournament. The top entries are then put forward for March's prestigious Game Developers Conference in San Diego.

Founded in 1985, the Macworld Conference and Expo is the largest annual Apple Macintosh event in the world. Well over 28,000 people have already pre-registered for MacWorld 2010. Hundreds of companies offering dedicated Mac products and services will be at the event to share their expert advice and show off their latest technology. There will be a strong focus on free training sessions and paid education tracks in 2010, in part to draw focus away from the fact that it will also be the first year in which Apple will not attend Macworld Expo.

Visitors to the world's largest digital IT and telecommunications event will be able to take part in a forum of "international networking, knowledge transfer and trend-setting." CeBIT 2010 highlights will include a new "Next Level 3D" floor space, international demonstrations of green technologies and a new presentation called "Advanced Office & Conference Solutions."
