Man narrowly avoids train in terrifying near-miss

Video has emerged of the terrifying moment a man avoids near certain death by a matter of centimetres after foolishly trying to beat a train across a level crossing in the UK.

Network Rail shared footage with the public this week of the shocking incident that happened back in May.

“Don’t be like this,” the rail operator said.

“This man risked his life, and the lives of others.”

The footage shows the man enter the level crossing by forcing his way through the closed boomgates, before walking across the tracks.

He doesn’t appear to notice the high-speed train careening towards him until the last second when he manages to dodge its path.

The incident occurred at the Brimsdown level crossing in north London, where a woman died after being hit by a train in January.

“Never take a chance on a level crossing and always use it correctly,” Network Rail said on Facebook.
