12 Days of Christmas: Rob Brydon on how you can help bring light into young patients' lives
On the sixth day of our video series the actor has delivered a special message on the importance of play workers at Great Ormond Street Hospital
Rob Brydon has backed The Indepedent's Christmas campaign with a personal message about the importance of play for seriously ill children.
Several stars, including fellow comic John Bishop and actress Emilia Fox, have so far urged readers to donate to the Give to GOSH appeal in videos. The series is running as part of a 12 Days of Christmas countdown to 25 December.
Brydon said: “The dedicated play team offers support and distraction for patients undergoing treatment.
“Your donation to the Give to GOSH appeal could help fund this vital service and create a sense of normality for children during their time in hospital.”
Funding for patient and family support is a key part of The Independent's campaign to help the UK’s largest children’s hospital.
Readers' donations will also go towards a specialist new cardiac unit, research programmes and the Louis Dundas Centre for Children’s Palliative Care.
As part of The Independent's online auction for GOSH, readers can bid on a luxury trip to Las Vegas to watch Sir Elton John perform at Caesars Palace. To find out more and bid: http://ind.pn/1MdJm4b
