Sir: So, Sainsbury's is to introduce mini-trolleys for children ("Supermarket rivals go off their trolley", 16 June). It is hard enough to control children in supermarkets at the best of times: to provide them with the tools to become pre-pubescent Formula One racing drivers is sheer folly.
I speak as someone who remembers Safeway's experiment with horror, and I can only hope that Sainsbury's trolleys suffer the same fate ["they got nicked"].
Yours with bruised and lacerated ankles!
