Everyone in this country is making the same mistake that Andrew Marr made. When he was editor of The Independent in the 1997 election campaign he and his home news editor (where are you now, David Felton?) planned their coverage on the basis that the opinion polls were wrong and the result was going to be close. "The Tories are coming back. I can feel it in my water," Marr said (or was it Felton?).
