Even when you instinctively know that something is true, it's still cheering to have a scientifically researched report to confirm it. So it is gratifying to learn that, last year at least, women investors, more common-sensical by nature, beat the men hands down. Which prompts two observations. Women City types who complain that their bonuses are unfairly lower than the men's are likely to have right on their side. So if anyone deserves higher pay, it is they. Then again, it could also be that a bear market suits the more cautious sex. Will their bets pay as well once the bulls come charging back into the ring?
