The controversial 2012 Christmas lights display of Sarah Childs, LA.

A woman called Sarah Childs in Denham Springs, Louisiana has erected a giant Christmas light display in the shape of a hand flipping the bird.

The middle finger of the display goes slowly up and down, while a clockwork elf operates a crank.

Best of all, despite complaints from her neighbours and a police order, it appears the local authorities are totally cool with it. According to wbrz.com, after the American Civil Liberties Union of Louisiana filed a suit on Child's behalf, US District Judge James Brady issued a temporary restraining order barring city officials from interfering with the lovingly constructed display.
