I AM sorry to see that the gulf between the two cultures still looms large on your arts pages. Jack Hughes ('Cries and Whispers', 27 March) refers to 'a Professor J D Bernal' rather than Professor J D Bernal, or even the Professor J D Bernal of X-ray crystallography fame.
