COMMENTATORS on the attempt to kill Hitler are reluctant to speculate on the consequences had the plotters been successful ('Why Germany is still ill at ease with its unwilling martyrs', 24 July). The death of Hitler could have brought a swift and timely end to the war.
So why has assassination never been fully exploited as a means of ridding the world of tyranny.
