Letter
HELEN Fielding's piece on single men ('Whatever happened to the confirmed bachelor?', 22 February) prompts my contribution to her suggested lexicon - Croydon. A Croydon is a male too emotionally or socially challenged to come to terms with the opposite sex. It is often a temporary affliction, and one that befell me and my friends in our twenties in the sexual desert of Croydon. Luckily, I escaped.
