IF Ilona Richards eats fish she is not a vegetarian (Daily Bread, 28 August). I am surprised that you are perpetuating the all-too-widespread myth that anyone giving up meat derived from animals with legs has the right to be called a vegetarian. It might not matter if real vegetarians were not constantly being offered fish by well-

meaning acquaintances and even professional caterers.
