'FOR YEARS, thinking people shunned his films', you write about Clint Eastwood (Review, 22 August). For years 'thinking people' have flocked to Eastwood films for their intelligence, paradox, humour and sensitivity. By 'thinking people' you mean the tiny metropolitan cultural elite who plod towards pronunciations of the blindingly obvious 20 years after everyone else.
