MARCUS TANNER'S report on Vojvodina Hungarians made interesting and sad reading. I noticed, though, that the old men on horseback were described as, well, 'old men', whereas the old women were reduced to 'toothless crones'. I hope that their dignity may be restored in any future accounts in your paper.
