TIME will tell how accurate were Simon O'Hagan's musings ('Runners line up in race for the Redhead slot', 30 May) on the next presenter of Radio 4's Today. But one can be sure William Hill will not be opening a book at the odds forecast by Mr O'Hagan, for the excellent reason that a nimble punter would be able to back all his 'runners' and show a profit of about 7 per cent on stakes. This blissful situation is known by bookmakers as 'betting overbroke' and is as rare as a glimpse of Barbara Cartland on the Booker shortlist.
