Why are advertisers prepared to jeopardise sales by provoking a dispute with the actors' union ("Equity strike hits TV ads", 30 November)? How much will they gain with their two-thirds' cut in actors' earnings? Only about half of one per cent of the budget of any advertisement goes to actors.
