With moves afoot to ban what has been medically proved as the unnecessary practice of circumcision, I am appalled that you give such prominence to this barbaric event ("The knife-edge of manhood", Review, 23 June). And if the practice makes one immune to cancer and more virile, why are some men anxious to reverse this unwanted practice?
