THE JAMAICA I visited recently was not the same Jamaica William Leith visited ('A tourist paradise, and you're welcome to it', Review, 25 July). I too stayed on the North Coast in a beautiful hotel. In the evenings I walked in the town chatting to people, going to discos and eating delicious food in restaurants. I felt no more pressured by local people than I would in Leicester Square or any other London tourist spot.
