Letter: A Labour leader's reaction to Murdoch

Sir: What would Clement Attlee, living now, have said about Rupert Murdoch's reported remark that he might consider supporting Labour (9 August)? Probably something like this: 'It's up to him, of course, but it will not affect my party's policy on limiting the rights of foreigners living abroad to own newspapers and television stations operating in Britain.'
