Letter: A mild offender

ROBERT FISK writes: "In the wicked list of human rights abuses that runs from the Atlantic to the Gulf, Morocco is, by comparison, a mild offender..." ("The two faces of King Hassan II", 25 July). I do not consider it a "mild" offence to forcibly occupy another country for 24 years, and to cause exile, separation of families, torture, disappearance, death and loss of a whole population. The Saharians have sustained themselves admirably, and must be hoping now that a new era is dawning for them.
