Sir: I too am attracted by the idea of a Millennium Forest. But before we plant it, would it be a good idea to demolish another forest: the pylons that disfigure so much of our countryside? Spending pounds 700m on burying power cables would provide more people with a significant and enduring monument than any current plans for domes and wheels.
