Sir: Over the last month, I have been alarmed to witness a revolution on our television screens, with national, if not international, implications. Gone are the 'Liberty' and 'paisley' prints, even the 'polka dot' and 'old school' have vanished.

Please reverse the trend of hideous ties that are insulting the nation's fashion sense, from the Six O'Clock News to the World Chess Championships.
