Sir: Geoff Chessum (letter, 13 January) begs the question - if he wanted to 'change life for the better, set the human spirit free, break new ground, etc' why did he not prepare an inspirational entry himself? I do not think saving one of the last vestiges of an artisanal industry is a 'dull and boring' aspiration. It is highly likely that the local community will, in some way, find the award inspirational.
