Sir: Your article 'Bog-myrtle to scotch midges' (5 August) comes as no surprise to those of us who have fished Scottish burns and lochs, especially in the West Highlands. Do all useful science tips carry a pounds 50,000 price tag these days?
Personally, I have been crushing the leaves and rubbing the result over face and arms for at least 40 years - the tip came from my great-grandfather.
