Letter: Batting for Gower

Sir: Both sides, those who enthuse over David Gower's elegance and those who fear his fallibility could be satisfied if he were to accompany the England team, only to give an exhibition of batting during each lunch interval throughout a Test match, against a locally selected set of bowlers and fieldsmen. Only the weather could spoil everyone's enjoyment.
