Letter: Blot on the landscape

Sir: I envied Andrew Bibby his walk over the moors to Churn Milk Joan, near Hebden Bridge (25 November). But he got there via the Crimsworth valley (not Grimsworth). And he is wrong in claiming that the Ovenden wind farm 'has already become an accepted part of the landscape'. It most certainly has not. Nor has the wind farm above Cliviger, north west of Hebden Bridge. These are eyesores that are deeply resented. Mr Bibby is right, however, in saying that many more wind farms 'would dominate and ultimately transform' the landscape.

Yours faithfully,

BERNARD INGHAM
