Sir: While I welcomed much of your leading article (28 June), I could not agree with your opening statement that it is wrong to have a simple response to the Iraqi bombing. Are there any in the world today - church leaders, journalists, politicians - prepared to say that the bombing of civilians is wrong? Are there no absolutes, or must utilitarian calculations always prevail?
