WHAT the Government should be proposing as a boost to Treasury income ('Ministers urge tax boost for gentle recovery', 10 January) was an increase in taxation, graduated, on six-figure salaries which have proliferated since the reduction of the highest tax band to 40 per cent. Also the abolition of the cut-off point for NHS contributions.
