"IF [THE COURT] thinks she's entitled to a share of his salary, she'll get it in maintenance" ("The wages of living in sin", Real Life, 16 August). Get real! The court can say what it likes, but what happens in nine out of ten cases is that ex-wives receive little or no maintenance, women and children live in inferior accommodation and solicitors gain fees. A marriage certificate does not guarantee financial security.
