Catherine Pepinster credits the words "Foxes have their holes, the birds have their roosts; but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head" to St Francis of Assisi ("Priceless history turned into rubble in seconds", 28 September). They were, in fact, said by Jesus (Matthew ch8, v20).
