LUCY Ellmann wrongly defines chitlins as "chicken's feet" ("Goodbye to all fat", Real Life, 7 January). They are the small intestine of the pig. It is inaccurate, too, to say, "We all leave a pretty sinister trail of hamburger cartons, sweet wrappers and the odd whisky bottle in our wake". She should speak for herself.
