Sir: Am I nave in being astonished to read ('Tory campaign to shun personal attacks on Blair', 29 July) that a meeting of the Cabinet was devoted to agreeing 'a summer offensive against Tony Blair's leadership of the Labour Party'? Is it the task of the Cabinet - whose members' salaries are paid from public funds - to concern itself with the government of the country or to conduct Conservative Party business?
Yours inquiringly,
DENNIS RUDD
