Sir: Your leading article 'Grammar schools as a springboard to power' (11 November) was incorrect in saying that Kenneth Clarke was educated at a state school. Nottingham High School has, for many years, been an independent public day school of which I had the privilege of being headmaster when Kenneth Clarke was a pupil there.
