Sir: The Labour Party conference pronunciation of 'composite' (letter, 4 October) is the Scottish manner of saying it, and presumably has something to do with the number of Scottish accents in the Shadow Cabinet. Perhaps unaware that it is a regional pronunciation, delegates assume that their leaders know best, and simply follow suit.
