Letter: Death wish

IN THIS country an adult can refuse medical treatment whatever the potential consequences ... that is if he or she is conscious. As soon as one becomes unconscious others claim the right to do whatever they consider appropriate ("Shopping centres to have heart attack revival kits", 20 June). A government that promotes the widespread installation of heart defibrillators should ensure at the same time that we do not have compulsory defibrillation. There needs to be recognition of some symbol that one could wear on the wrist to keep at bay the resuscitators.
