P J BARLOW is wrong (Briefly, 16 January). Desperate Dan is not looked after by 'Maw'. Aunt Aggie cooks his cow pie and sometimes pumpkin pie. Sometimes he's been known to make his own sandwiches. And the Beano is not for softies or people who wash their necks. I have not washed my neck for two months.
