Sir: I was astounded to read in your article about the 1997 Michelin Guide ("Marco's Michelin crown falls to young chef", 23 January) that there were only three 3-star restaurants in the book and they were all in London.

Rushing out to buy my own copy, I discovered that the Waterside Inn at Bray, Berkshire, still had three stars and was still not in London.
