Sir: Dr Phil Hammond (20 January) tells us that his grandfather's wish to be "chucked in the ground in a bin-liner without any fuss" was vetoed by the undertaker. So where does it say you have to have an undertaker? In my last parish, a bereaved family made their own coffin, had the children paint it in cheerful colours, brought it to church for the requiem Mass and then delivered Gran at the back of the crematorium without further formalities.
