Letter: Down with VAT

Sir: With the end of the poll tax next year, it is comforting to anticipate the cessation of the 2.5 per cent VAT levy imposed to ease the burden on poll tax payers, and relish the stimulus to the high street economy that the return to the standard 15 per cent will bring.
