Sir: The Dunblane massacre was an appalling tragedy that is virtually beyond comprehension and certainly doesn't benefit from the media's relentless quest to rehash the facts from every conceivable angle.
A national day of mourning, where all schools, businesses, shops and other organisations close in remembrance, would be a far more powerful response and concentrate everyone's minds on the importance of life, young and old.
