Letter: Elected monarchs
Sir: In his attack on the republican constitution of Italy (letter, 12 April), Donald Foreman of the Monarchist League asks what kind of democracy condemns some of its citizens to permanent exile. May I ask him what kind of democracy is a monarchist constitution which permanently denies me the right to choose my country's head of state?
Yours faithfully,
