Sir: After two weeks of sunshine I decided to buy some sandals, but, silly me, it's now the end of the season sales and there are only a few pairs left. Now when I go shopping I find that the shops have "back to school" promotions. However, my children haven't broken up from their summer term yet. Can't we even be allowed to enjoy one week of our summer holidays before we are reminded to get back to work?
