Sir: The attitudes discussed in "Photography and the new censorship" (12 September) fall short of the pinnacle of absurdity.

A local friend took photographs of a nude person - her grandchild - being weighed at the age of a few hours.

The film processer knew his duty: he blacked out the child's genitals on all the pictures.
