Letter: Fagin's children demonstrate their technique

Sir: Like Joan Birkin (letter, 19 August), I, too, was a victim of child pickpockets - in Rome. The first I knew of the event was when the mother sent her toddling child to return what they had inadvertently stolen - an envelope containing photographs of my children. I do not believe Fagin would have done the same.
