Sir: On Monday my sister and I were accused of truancy while shopping at a market with my mum. What I was actually doing was spending some time on holiday at half-term in Oxford (Oxford schools had half-term the week before Dorset schools).
I had heard on the news that big measures were being taken to stop truancy but I don't feel that being snapped at by a greengrocer is the right way to go about it. After that I have been very intimidated walking around town on my holiday.
Yours faithfully,
SIMON THACKER (aged 12)
