Sir: Fines for pavement-hogging cyclists - a great idea, but why stop there? Fines for those without lights, fines for those who jump red lights, fines for those whose clothing renders them invisible at night, fines for those nasty little children who prefer to cycle across the road rather than down it ... In fact, why not go the whole hog and ban the damn things altogether and leave more road-space for us law-abiding motorists.
