Sir: I do not object to foxhunting or fishing, but I do find hypocrisy totally unacceptable.
Could, therefore, Tony Banks MP and the League Against Cruel Sports state their position regarding fishing?
If they are against it on the grounds that it is at least as cruel as, and probably crueller than, hunting, could they explain why they are pursuing such a high-profile campaign against the latter, which involves a few hundred creatures each year whereas fishing involves many thousands every day?
