Sir: Your article (1 January) about the footballer Lee Chapman's wine cellar tells us that he had trouble befriending a top wine-maker in Burgundy until he took him a signed shirt. As someone planning a similar pilgrimage to Bourgogne this summer, what should I take to break the ice? If it is to be a signed shirt, what should I sign it for best effect?
