Letter: Garden fit for a saint

Sir: The perspicacious proposal offered by Rowan Moore and Adam Zombory-Moldovan to turn the rubble of St Ethelburga's into a memorial garden to the victims of terrorism deserves support ('Open to the sky, with a light burning bright', 5 May). Their plan - a site including fragments of the earlier structure around an open space - is unusually appropriate; in the seventh century, St Ethelberga was herself buried in an unfinished church.

Yours sincerely,
