Sir: Thank you for your enlightened leading article today about the ban on homosexuals in the armed services ("From Lionheart to Stonewall", 8 June).

We need an international homosexual veterans' association to recruit from all ranks who served in all wars from the Great War onwards, many wounded, many decorated. Their voices should be heard in the prejudice- filled messes of the services and corridors of the Ministry of Defence.
